In Donor Egg In Vitro Fertilisation, also known as IVF with egg donation, the donor eggs are fertilised with the sperm in the laboratory and the embryo is then transferred to the patient’s uterus.
Donor Egg IVF is the treatment with the best success rates.
It is an optimal option for those patients whose eggs are not of sufficient quality to achieve an evolving pregnancy, either because of their age or other circumstances (menopause, early ovarian failure, genetic causes, cancer treatments, etc.)
The pregnancy rate per cycle refers to pregnancies achieved with embryos generated in a single puncture or oocyte retrieval. This includes the transfer of fresh embryos and any frozen embryos. In the case of IVF with donor eggs, our pregnancy rate is 91.5%.
These excellent results have been achieved by transferring a single embryo in 90% of the treatments. In this way, we have shown that the transfer of a single blastocyst (embryo on its fifth day of development) improves success rates.
The embryo transfer is carried out ‘fresh’, without freezing it. This requires a great deal of coordination and synchronisation between the donor and the future mother, but it also offers the best results. Even so, either by decision of the patient or by medical indication, we can also do the embryo transfer in deferred, freezing the embryos obtained to transfer them in a later cycle.
